Freebie & Mega Giveaway

So I realized that I haven't done a giveaway since summer time, so this is long overdue!  I have so many products new and old that I want to share with you... a whopping $72 worth of items that you can win!

First, let me start with the FREEBIE!
http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Frog-Themed-ABC-Recognition-Game-Free-846712
I bought that adorable frog garbage can at The Container Store, and my students affectionately named him "Mr. Froggie."  They just LOVE him.  I use him throughout the year for beginning sounds, but wanted to introduce him earlier in the year to work on alphabet discrimination.  Go grab this product for free to use in your classroom!

Now onto the products for the giveaway!

This Smart Notebook document is a really fun graphing activity... I used it at the beginning of the year to informally assess who could read/recognize their own names.

http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Skip-Counting-By-Tens-Smartboard-Game-Pack-Four-Games-1024551
This one is my newest product, and my favorite!!!  My students LOVE the four games that I made for skip counting by ten.  Be sure to check out the preview file.  It has examples of all of the games!

My students loved this one also.  This non-fiction book has so much information about animals that hibernate, and has interactive questions to ensure students are paying attention to the story.  It also has a lot of information about how bears go into torpor, and how that's slightly different than hibernation!

http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/AlphabetHandwriting-Practice-for-the-Smartboard-1024640
These handwriting pages for the SmartBoard go perfect with my Alphabet Writing Poems and Videos!  Students can work as a class to practice writing the letters on the board before they practice it independently!

http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Sand-Writing-Alphabet-Formation-and-Pre-Printing-Practice-985870
Since we're talking about alphabet writing, this is another fun activity I made to have students practice writing their letters in the sand.  It fits perfectly in the lid of the pencil case!

Sticking with the alphabet theme, I made these worksheets for beginning sounds.  I used them for homework as we introduced each sound.

How to See What Your Most Popular Blog Posts Are

This little trick is another one of my favorites.  When I think about what option to add to the Technology Tuesday poll, I also try to think about what my most popular blog posts are - ones are benefit teachers in different grade levels.  For new bloggers, this can also help you to write more relevant posts... ones that your current followers are loving.  Plus, it's nice to see that all of that hard work writing fabulous blog posts is paying off!

This option just barely snuck into the lead on the poll!

Now, for the quick and easy tutorial!

How to See What's Been Pinned Recently From Your Blog!

I don't use this tip too frequently, but I remember when I first started blogging I would check this almost daily!  I was so curious to see what people were liking from my blog so I could be sure to offer them more of what they wanted to better build an audience.

It was no surprise to me that this took more than half of the votes on the poll!

Now for the simple, one step tutorial!

Don't forget to check out the Technology Tuesday request form at the top of the page.  You can request exactly what you want me to add to the poll!  I try to choose options that a few people have requested, so be sure to put in your request when you get a chance!

That being said, for next week's poll, I'll be adding how to see which blog posts are your most popular!

How to Figure out the Name of a Font that You Just Fell In Love With!

It wasn't until this year that I realized how much I rely on this little tip!  How many times do you look at a document, perhaps an item you've found on TPT, and think to yourself, "I need that font!"  Well, if you find yourself saying that often and having an impossible time finding the font, this is the tutorial for you!

This option took up more than half of the votes on the poll!

Before I start the tutorial, a quick shout out.  I was most recently inspired to write this tutorial by a fabulous Birthday Posters freebie I found by That's So Second Grade:

http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Birthday-Posters-775924

I printed out these posters and wanted my students' names and birthdays to match the font in the titles.  Once I found the name of the font, I printed all of the birthdays onto labels.  If you've found yourself in the same situation, but couldn't figure out the name of the font, now's your chance to go back and download it!

How to Figure Out What Font Is Missing From Your Editable Document

Blogging friends, it has been too long!  Sometimes life happens and it's impossible to juggle so many things at once... but I made a promise to myself that I would finally get around to this technology Tuesday post so here goes!

The winner of this forever long poll is how to figure out which font is missing from your editable document.  I've started to download a lot of e-books in PowerPoint, and the fonts always look funny!  If you've run into the same problem, now is time to fix it!

The results of the poll were very close!

Now for the tutorial!

If you're not sure how to install the fonts, be sure to check out this tutorial:

How to Get Your PowerPoint to Load on Another Computer: Fonts, Picture Modifications and All!

This week's tutorial is one that a lot of people ask me about!  It can be so frustrating to make a PowerPoint on your computer at home, then head to your work computer and have all of your hard work with fancy fonts and giving pictures transparent backgrounds go to waste!

I do want to forewarn you that this tutorial does NOT copy over videos or sound effects, so those will need to be reinserted.  It also does not copy over transitions, as it flattens all of the images.  Outside of those items though, the PowerPoint will look just as it does on the computer you created it on.

Now... onto the tutorial!

You can download this tutorial as a PDF by clicking this picture!
Note: This tutorial is hosted on Google Docs.  To save it from there, just open the file and click File > Download to save onto your computer!

As for next week's poll, I'll add something that is super helpful - how to figure out which fonts are missing from an editable file that you downloaded!
